If you have SketchUp’s Backups set up, then you can go back the the model-version one save behind your last save. Bring your 3D design online, and have your SketchUp projects with you wherever you go. To save your new texture into a new library Right Click it and choose Save As from the context menu. Here you can now give your texture a name and dimensions and click OK to create your new material. If I then close this model, then its AutoSave file is auto-deleted, as it closes… library, a library of plants & lighting, and free future updates. With your texture now loaded you are back in the Create Material palette. On my PC with AutoSave set up, I open a new ‘Untitled’ model from a Template, and I do not save it… after the requisite time has passed an AutoSave file IS made - it is named “AutoSave_Untitled.skp”. While mainly used for 3D models in an actual running project, you can also use it to sync all your libraries for yourself, or share them with others. Select the SketchUp file, and click Open. If you don't see your file, in the Files of Type drop-down list, select SketchUp Files (.skp). In the Open dialog box that appears, navigate to the SketchUp file. If SketchUp crashes the model’s AutoSave file is usually left behind - so in theory you can rescue some work, at least back to the last time it was AutoSaved. Follow these steps: Open the model into which you want to import a SketchUp file. However, when you exit the model ‘cleanly’, then its AutoSave file is usually auto-deleted. On a PC, when it’s set up, the SketchUp AutoSave function saves a copy of the model “MODELNAME_AutoSave.skp” at the given time intervals into the folder specified in Preferences > Files - all as outlined in earlier ppsts… Click on the extension thumbnail and select Install Extension from the listing page to complete the installation.
